Adventure Builder
Privacy Policy
This notice describes the data handling visible in the current Adventure Builder website build. It should be reviewed whenever new data collection, analytics, payments, marketing or third-party services are added.
1. Who this notice is for
Adventure Builder provides an adventure-planning website and app. This notice explains how personal information may be used when you create an account or use account-connected features.
2. Information we may process
- Account details such as your name and email address.
- Profile and preference information you choose to save.
- Trips, routes, journal entries, uploaded media, feedback and other content you choose to create or store.
- Technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as authentication/session information.
3. Why we use information
We use personal information to provide your account and requested features, keep information associated with the correct user, operate and secure the service, respond to feedback, and improve Adventure Builder.
4. Lawful basis
Depending on the feature and circumstances, processing may be necessary to provide the service you request, to meet legal obligations, for legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, or based on your consent where consent is required.
5. Service providers
The current website uses Supabase for account authentication and account-connected data services. Other infrastructure or service providers may be used as Adventure Builder develops. Providers should only receive the information needed for their role and should be reviewed before deployment.
6. International transfers
Some technology providers may process information in more than one country. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, appropriate safeguards must be used.
7. How long information is kept
Information should be kept only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain security, or meet legal requirements. More specific retention periods should be documented as individual Adventure Builder features move into production.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent.
9. Children and younger users
Adventure Builder should use age-appropriate privacy and safety measures where features are available to younger users. Features that collect or share information about children require additional review before production use.
10. Security
Adventure Builder uses account authentication and access controls, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Do not share your password and report suspected account misuse promptly.
11. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, contact Adventure Builder through the website feedback/contact facility first so it can be investigated. You may also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
12. Contact
Adventure Builder can be contacted through the feedback/contact facility available on the website. A dedicated privacy contact address should be added here before full commercial launch.
13. Changes to this notice
This Privacy Policy may be updated when features, providers or legal requirements change. The current version will be published here with its update date.
